If you need ePub 2 support and it is not available as an option, therefore, all you need to do is install a Compile format that uses it. ePub 2 only disappears if none of your Compile formats use it. This means that any users who were working with ePub 2 prior to 3.1 will be able to continue working with ePub 2 even in 3.1+. If you have a Compile format in your library of formats that has ePub 2 as one of its supported file type, ePub 2 will appear as an option in Compile. Thus, we have not removed legacy ebook support entirely - we've just hidden it. While most ebook platforms should now support ePub 3, you may have your reasons for wanting to create ebooks in ePub 2, such as having a discontinued e-reader device that doesn't support the newer format.
